“Take the Church, To the People”
is our motto, and our PASSION!
Whirlwind Missions has worked with the immigrant and refugee population since 2001. Your team will minister In the International Village: a unique area in America with over 145 different countries and 761 different language groups!
When school is in session, Whirlwind Missions focuses on After School tutoring, ESL Classes, and evangelism in the apartment complexes where we work.
During Spring Break and Summer, our teams host Backyard Bible Club which feature recreation, crafts, snacks and a Bible story. We average over 1,500 students every year!
Whirlwind can host teams of several hundred to small family teams of ten.
Youth directors frequently tell us, “This is the best missions trip we’ve ever taken!” And “You guys have brought the whole world to us! Our kids loved working here!”
Most groups serve for a whole week, but weekend trips are awesome, too!
Make sure to read the TOURS page to find out more about the cultural safaris each morning.
During your time here in the International Village, you will have two missionary guides: Tim Cummins and his daughter Ashley Kendall. You’ll love working with them!
Tim is not your average preacher. Some say, “He’s the loudest guy I have ever met.” Others, “Tim is intense!” Tim is a field operative in “God’s Special Forces.” Kathy is his wife. They met in Kenya where Tim grew up. She is his best friend and loves people with a passion. His daughter Ashley is 24, Jesse is 22. The whole family is involved in ministry.
Ashley Kendall is YOUR youngest North American Mission Board Mission Service Corps Missionary. She grew up France, Kenya, Zimbabwe, S. Africa and Madagascar. Her family has worked with the immigrant and refugee population since 1996. Ashley, and her husband, Miles, both work in the apartments. Ashley serves as the Director of Missions and coordinates logistics for the teams.
